So this is the part where I'm
supposed to tell you all the thrilling and exciting things about my life – you know, the book deals, the signings, the
reviews in PEOPLE.
Um ....
If I told you the truth about
my life, you'd keel over in boredom. So let's settle for a few snappy facts. Thankfully, there are SOME interesting things
worth sharing.
Snappy Fact 1: I was living in Guyana during Jonestown. Yes, I still drink
Kool-Aid.
Snappy Fact 2: I've been to five of the seven continents. Australia and Antarctica are the only ones left.
(I saw March of the Penguins twice in one month – does that count?)
Snappy Fact 3: I once wrote a fantasy piece
for a mother's newsletter about Harrison Ford, which he ended up reading and (sigh) autographing.
Snappy Fact 4: I've
made the finals of the Golden Heart contest (the biggest competition for unpublished romance writers) four times. Each time
is that much sweeter.
Snappy Fact 5: Twenty-plus years of marriage, one husband, four kids. No murder convictions.
Yet.
Snappy Fact 6: I can swear in four languages. Not fluently, but enough to get by.
Snappy Fact 7: I love,
love, love music from the 60's and 70's. The Grass Roots are my Favorite. Band. Ever. And if Rob Grill ever wants me to sing
along with the guys, I am SO there.
Snappy Fact 8: My all-time favorite TV show is SOAP. Yes, SOAP. From the 70's.
Which was probably the last decade I had time to watch TV.
Snappy Fact 9: I've lived in central New York about 20
years, but still retain my Canadian citizenship. God Save the Queen. (And/or Helen Mirren.)
Snappy Fact 10: If I could
be anyone in the world when I grow up, I'd like to be Miss Piggy.
